52: Crowd Dancing

hmm...
It's a funny story. the first and (maybe) the last time I dance in front of many people. It was in an unforgettable evening when the workshop attendance and its committees including me had diner in a restaurant in Lembang. After having meal, we were entertained by the Sundanese traditional dance and its folk songs. there was a cheerful circumstance moreover some of the audiences moved forward and then dancing. Closed to the end of the show, the "vice" director of SEDC sang a Sundanese song in rock and roll style. to my surprise, my friend pulled me up and dragged me to the arena of dancing. Forcedly I danced with Mr. Chaerun. It was unusual but OK. Some argued that my shaking was not bad.hehe...

53: Bali Field Study

It was my fantastic time in Bali. lots of joy and laugh.
When I was at the seventh semester, my faculty held a field study in Bali. Wow, Bali is really the island of God, so beautiful. we visited so many places and the most interesting place, in my opinion, is Kintamani and Besakih Temple. There is a unique custom in Kintamani dealing with dead people. They just put the corpses closed to a huge ancient tree. scary. what a smell! (perhaps). My best time in Bali was when we were in Tanjung Benoa and Kuta beach.
Beside visiting the tourism spots, we also had to write something about Bali as a report. I made a paper entitled 'Giving name to children in Balinese society'.

58: Wanted

Hmm.. it was my childhood age when my father and the whole big family looked for me. It was a bright sunday afternoon in my village when my friends were offering me to go around. I said yes, and we went around by riding his truck then. we had a lot fun. It was nine at the evening when we returned and there were a lot of people in -might say-town hall. in fact, they were looking for me, they thought I was lost and being kidnapping. When I got down from the truck, my mom ran toward me and hugged me then. I was just surprised, 'what's going on..'
indeed, I didn't tell my mom first that I would go around with my friend. she looked so worried. I ungderstood when I heard the rumour that some of boys of the village were lost. I was taken home by my father and then he got angry. the big one, one of two of his biggest angry ever!
I just scared at night, My father was angry with me in front of my big family. I admitted that I was wrong going without permission. I was ten. so, you guys, ask your mom permission before leaving the house. It was a lesson to be learnt.

Do you believe in karma? well, I do. I have experienced a bad thing after doing something bad. My friends and I went to Siliwangi stadium for watching Persib v Persija in a sunny afternoon. We had waited fro this match since long time ago. It's a big match, a classic one. Unfortunately, we had no tickets. It was sold out a months before! Hoping got a ticket from the brokers, we determined to go to Siliwangi no matter what. Since it's an important match, there were so many bobotoh. We looked for the brokers but they offered the ticket at double cost. we looked around but still, there were no tickets then we took a rest in a roadside. A moment later, there was an announcement shouting that someone had lost his wallet. Spontaneously, I yelled, "Ehh..take care your own pocket, dude!". "Fed up!" I implied peevishly. Suddenly, I looked up at my bag and its zipper was open! O god. I checked it up and I found that my wallet was gone. It had been stolen. My friends laughed at me and made fun of it. I just surprised. I went to the police station and reported it. I lost my money and some important letters. I really got served. Karma.

Hmm... another bad thing I did when I was a plain teenager. It's about taking something you don't belong to in public area. Shoplifting, people say. Actually this is not a habit or bad disease I have. It's only an adrenalin test.
Once upon a time, when the world was no longer secure. when it needed a heroic young gentleman to save the universe. There were a couple of friend, around 14 and 17, stood in front of a supermarket (apa seeh..ga nyambung deh... hihi ;). There came a dare, "are you brave enough to take a chocolate from the store?". "Why I am not!" I replied. we got in the store confidently just like a rich housewife goes shopping. what will you feel doing something bad you've never done before? hmm... your heart beat fast! By turning my head left and right, silently and quickly I put a chocolate bar into my pocket. Right away, we went out calmly. Then, on the way home, we put out what we had taken. a chocolate bar. the cheap one actually. we laughed out loud but felt guilty then. we didn't eat the chocolate, just starring at. but soon, we returned it back and put on its shelf. That was a single and very first and last time I did such thing. BaDBoY!

73: Chemistry

This is one of science subject that really has connection with my life. I don't know whether it is incidence or coincidence, but one thing for sure it affects my life. Why? first time learned this subject, I kinda like this subject, but it turned down when I was at the third grade of high school taught by an (in my opinion) unpleasant teacher. I hated it! Maybe, I hated the way she taught us. She focused on two or three students who really understand and ignored the rest including me!



But then, this subject comes into my life again, and again brought by the people surround me and to my surprise I got a job in an institution working in science education. My youngest sister finishing his high school plans to take chemistry as her subject in the college later. When I asked why she's willing to take this subject, she simply answered it, "I love it and to me it is interesting". I hope you got what you want,dear, and hopefully it is what you need. Besides, some people I know take chemistry as their subject as well. My best friend flew to Singapore to learn chemistry at NUS. Kak Anggra is graduated from Unpad and takes chemistry as her subject too. So what make those people interest in this complicated thing?

77: Walk Out

This about my PPKn (State Ideology and Citizen Subject) teacher, he had taught us since the first grade. We didn't like him at all. One time, there was a new teacher teaching the same subject. He ever taught my class for one semester and the lads liked him. He's very friendly, nice, and humorist. When I was at the third grade, my class was decided to be taught by our former teacher while the social class was taught by the latest one. At first, we could accept the decision with the condition that the teacher would change his method in teaching. The way he taught us really unbelievable and unacceptable! Imagine, we had to finish the tasks in a book for a week! insane! when we hadn't finished it yet, we were not allowed to join the class! nut! then the week after was another torture! We all got to resume and summarize the handbook! yes, it was for a week length!
At the first week he taught us at the third grade, he did the exact thing! Yet, my class had its own way to handle it, yup, we did walk out of the class at his time and asked the principal to replace the teacher! Demo - in Indonesian modern term. Eventually, our demand was accepted and we got the teacher we love. Peace! One Love!

I bought a translator when I was in the high school, the cheap one but nice and it was very useful when I was in college. This one is about my friend. It happened when I was at the second year of junior high school. That morning we studied Bahasa Indonesia. I sat at the second row and a girl named **** was right in front of me. It was in the middle of the teaching-learning process when I felt that something sounded like liquid dropping down. It was clearly liquid under my desk when my foot stepped on. spontaneously, I looked down and I found that It was a yellow-smell liquid best known as urine! O dear God, she's pee in the class! Of course it shook the class. I moved aside. She looked pale then. ashamed maybe. She was taken home by the class leader, and she was absent for a week then. Some said she was ill. We all were warned not to humiliate her at any reason after all.

81: Drowning (almost)

It was a holiday when my school held a routine vacation. we visited some lakes in west sumatra. first, we visited 'danau di atas' and danau di bawah in Solok. uniquely, the location of 'danau di atas is below of 'danau di bawah'. actually, those lakes are one split lake.
on the way back, we stepped over to lake Singkarak in Batusangkar, my hometown. we were allowed to swim in the lake. my friends and I swam in the lake side because we didn't know to swim! hehehe... but, step by step, we moved forward until it reached our neck. suddenly, my leg was stuck on something. i didn't know what it was. i guessed it was weeds under the lake. I felt the water was risen up! I was under! hard to breath! scary! I was panic! luckily, one of my friends swam toward me and reached my hand. he pulled me to the lake side. I was terrified. but, after all, my friends laughed at me and made fun on it. I just could smile then. Thanks God!
